Privacy policy
Last updated 31 August 2026
This website does not ask you for anything. There is no account to create, no comment box and no form to fill in — so unless you choose to turn analytics on, or you use the booking, map or ordering tools, nothing about your visit is recorded.
Who we are
Qartol Turkish Restaurant, 14-16 King St, East Grinstead, RH19 3DJ. We are the data controller for this website. For anything on this page, write to info@qartol-restaurant.co.uk or call 01342 323649.
What this site collects
The pages themselves are fixed files. They carry no login, no comments and no contact form, and they do not profile you or show you advertising.
The one thing that can collect anything is Google Analytics, and it is not loaded unless you accept it on the banner. If you do, Google records which pages you read, roughly where in the country you are, and what browser and device you used. We see those as counts and trends, never as a name. Google acts as our processor for it; their privacy policy covers what they do with it, and you can change or withdraw your answer at any time on our cookies page.
Like any website, ours is served by a hosting company whose servers keep short-lived technical logs — the kind every web server keeps to stay up and to fend off abuse. We do not use those to identify visitors.
When you reach us through the site
- Booking a table. The booking form on the home page is OpenTable’s. Your reservation and the details you give it go to OpenTable, who pass the booking to us; it is covered by their privacy policy. You can always book by calling us instead.
- Ordering. Every “Order” button leaves this site for our ordering service at order.qartolrestaurant.co.uk. What you enter there — your name, address, payment — is handled by that service under its own policy, not by this site.
- The map. The map on the home page and on Contact is embedded from Google Maps, which loads from Google when the page does.
- Calling, emailing or messaging us. If you phone, email or send us a WhatsApp message, we keep what you sent for as long as we need it to deal with you — a booking enquiry for a few weeks, a complaint for as long as it takes to settle. We do not add you to a mailing list.
Who else sees it
Nobody, beyond the companies named above that run a part of the site for us. We do not sell anything about you, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes. We would hand something over only if the law required it.
Cookies
This site sets none of its own. The analytics ones, and the ones the embedded booking form and map may set, are listed on the cookies page, with a switch for the analytics ones.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of anything we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to us using it, or ask us to restrict what we do with it. Write to info@qartol-restaurant.co.uk and we will answer within a month.
If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator. We would rather you came to us first, but you do not have to.
Changes
If we change how the site works we will change this page with it, and the date under the title will tell you when we last did.
